Prostate cancer can be prevented by balanced diet and by changing our lifestyle. Regular exercise, reduced weight and a low-fat diet can be helpful to prevent prostate cancer. The following measures to prevent prostate cancer are:
1. Balanced diet: One must eat sensibly and keep their weight and calories under control.
Healthy foods such as brown rice and wheat bread must be taken. Excess of sweets and salts should be avoided. A high content of fruits and vegetables such as spinach, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, tomatoes must be included in diet which helps in preventing prostate cancer. Flax contains certain ingredients that help to prevent prostate cancer. One must consume a cereal that has high proportion of flax in it.
2. Moderate alcohol consumption: A maximum of two drinks can be taken a day to prevent prostate cancer.
3. Vitamin D: Fish liver oil, cheese and egg yolks contain some amount of vitamin D which must be taken regularly so as to prevent prostate cancer.
4. Consumption of soy products and legumes: One must drink cow’s milk with soy. Soya beans and legumes contain some chemicals which act as an estrogen hormone in our body that helps to prevent prostate cancer.
