Prostate Cancer
Chocolates were once upon a time believed to be gifts from Gods themselves. It then comes as no surprise that some theories have established the positive effects of chocolates while dealing with prostate cancer.
Chocolates consist of one element called flavonoids. These are nothing but phytochemicals. Some studies claim that phytochemicals are useful in fighting the prostate cancer. These flavonoids have a very common and must required element for chocolates called cocoa.
Cocoa has antioxidant effects called procyanidins. You can find such compounds in tea as well as in grapes. When such compounds are consumed, it increases the antioxidation of the blood. This effect is good for dealing with prostate cancer.
The anitoxidants cut the flow of blood to the affected part on which the tumor thrives. Thus, as there is no blood reaching in those parts, it automatically restricts the growth of the dangerous cancer tumor.
With so many types of chocolates, one has to be careful while choosing the right ones. Not all are good for the cause. The above effect is only observed in case of dark chocolates. This is because of the presence of high quantity of cocoa. Milk chocolates do not serve the purpose nor do the white chocolates.
