There are four stages of colon cancer and according to the symptoms shown by your body the doctor can evaluate the advancement of your colon cancer.
Stage 0: This is the starting stage of colon cancer where the cancer has been found in the inner linings of the colon.
Stage 1: In this stage the cancer has started spreading but it is still spreading in the interior lining of the rectum or colon. The colon cancer has not yet reached to the outer wall of the colon.
Stage 2: In this stage the colon cancer has affected to the other tissues but it has still now not reached to lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are that part of the body which assists the body in fighting all forms of infections and disease.
Stage 3: In this stage the colon cancer has attacked the lymph nodes.
Stage 4: This is the last stage where the cancer has spread to every tissues of the body near the lymph nodes. Lung and liver are the main organs affected by the colon cancer. The survival rate in the early stage of spreading is five times more than the last stage.
